Shrek 1

When you want something badly enough - you will be prepared to go through many things in order to achieve it. In order to rescue Princess Fiona, Shrek and Donkey have to go through a long journey and fight off a dragon and fire, to rescue the Princess. This will entitle Shrek to get his swamp back. Point being - what are you prepared to do for God and the Gospel? In the Bible, Paul says he went through many things for the Gospel - 2 Corinthians 11:24-26.

God sees the heart - Princess Fiona is expecting to fall in love with a handsome prince. But she finds that she is falling for Shrek, who on the outside is an ogre. Clip to find will be any clip on the return journey after Shrek and Donkey have rescued Princess Fiona. God sees your heart and knows what's inside. We see David, a shepherd boy chosen over his older, more handsome brothers. Why? Because God knows the heart (1 Samuel 16). God tells Samuel that although man looks on the outside, God looks to the inside to the heart (1 Samuel 16.7).

Shrek 2

Standing Out for the Gospel - when Shrek and Fiona reach Far Far Away, they are forced to get out of the carriage in front of the masses of people and Fiona's parents, the King and Queen. A hushed shocked silence falls over the people. Even the King cannot ccept what has happened. In Matthew 8, Luke 9 and Luke 14, we find that there is often a cost to following Jesus.

Loving someone for who they are - Right at the end of the movie (final chapter), Shrek has a choice about whether to remain a dashing, good looking, knight - or whether to return to be an ogre. He tells Fiona that he will do whatever she wants. She asks, 'you would do that for me?' before replying that she wants to go back to being in love with the ogre she fell in love with. They are then transformed back into ogres.

Working Together - at one point, Shrek, Donkey and Puss in Boots, are all trapped down a well / dungeon. It takes the combined efforts of their friends from back in the swamp, to come and rescue them in a daring, Mission Impossible take off moment. The friends all do different things, from the mice - to Pinnochio growing his nose by lying (unwittingly, as he's asked a question about whether he's wearing women's underwear, turns out he is.. lol). Use this with 1 Corinthians 12 about one body in the church, but we all have different parts to play.
