The Bible has a lot to say about healing. Yet perhaps we don't see enough healing in our churches. We know from the Bible that all believers have the ability to heal, deliver from demons, preach the good news. We also know that the preaching of the Word of God will be accompanied by signs, wonders and miracles. We do recognise that there are specific ministries of healing, in addition and beyond that of all believers.
Here are Bible verses to help you if you are stuggling and in need of healing. On the Cross, Jesus made a once for all, perfect, complete provision for our every need. The Word of God is powerful and is useful for all things in life, and we can use the Word of God over our lives for healing and for many other things...
These verses can be read out, over and over to build faith - to believe for healing, deliverance and more. I fully expect these Bible verses, spoken out in faith, to heal people visiting this site because of the power of God's Word; the fact that God's Word testifies to itself as being medicine for the whole body; and that signs and miracles will follow the preaching of the Word of God, which is what this website and section is dedicated to. All this is for the glory of God, for his fame and his name.
Maybe take these verses, as you would take medicine, 3 times a day after meals! The Bible also tells us that the Word of God is like a seed - so plant the Word of God in your heart and maintain your confession no matter what.
Print this out if you think it would help. Someone has suggested the verses are stated aloud each time. First time, addressing Jesus with his Word, the next time addressing the words to yourself and your situation, the final time speaking these words to the devil.
The truth is that you have been given authority, through the name (authority) of Jesus...
And remember, this is not just about your healing. This is about the fact that we are ministers of God’s total salvation and the hope for the world. He’s given us authority to pray for others and see people healed, changed, restored, delivered, set free and made whole.
An Overview of Healing
It is our belief that God still does healings, miracles and signs and wonders today. Around the globe there are increasing testimonies of God’s supernatural power at work. God is our healer and he hasn’t changed. Behind medicine’s healing properties is God who is good. There is nowhere in the Bible that tells us that healing or spiritual gifts have ended. You have to misinterpret the Bible and undermine the nature of God to believe this. We do not believe things on the basis of what we see – we believe things on the basis of what God’s Word says.
God also wants you well – he’s not the one who brings sickness on us today, unlike in Old Testament times which were different. There is no sickness is heaven and there was no sickness in the Garden of Eden! Jesus healed everyone who came to him wanting to be healed. He has not changed his nature.
We have the same Holy Spirit in us today and that same power that raised Jesus from the dead is on the inside of us (Ephesians 1.19-20). In fact, John 14.12 tells us that whoever believes in Jesus will do the things that Jesus did – in fact there will be greater works done. All of this is through the completed work of Jesus on the Cross. Isaiah 53.4-5 tells us that Jesus took our infirmities and sorrows (or pain and suffering). This is rightly translated as Jesus took our pain and sicknesses – we see this confirmed in Matthew 8.
Several times, the Bible links being saved (becoming a Christian) with healing. When Jesus healed people, many times the word ‘sozo’ was used – which means both being ‘thoroughly’ saved and being completely healed. (See for example Luke 17.19 – also showing us the power of thanking God!)
In ourselves we have no power to heal, but it is the power of God on the inside of us and God has not left us alone – he is with us and will never leave us (Hebrews 13.5). So our faith is not in ourselves; our faith is not in ‘faith’. Our faith is in the Word of God, the nature of God and the promises of God.
As encouraging testimonies, I have personally prayed for people who have been healed – one of a migraine that had caused them to lose their sight temporarily; another person’s baby was healed overnight and is now a healthy child. A lady from my church was healed of almost complete blindness. Two other ladies have had their backs healed. People in my city go out praying for people on the streets and have seen huge numbers of people instantly and completely healed. Around the globe, people are being healed more than ever as God demonstrates his power against an evil world. We need the spiritual gifts God has given us.
When we pray and see people come to know Jesus, healed, restored, delivered, made whole – we see God’s kingdom breaking in and breaking out. This is part of what God taught us to pray for in the Lord’s prayer. This is God’s will.
Sometimes we don’t understand why not everyone is healed but this doesn’t change the fact that God is a healer and wants to heal. His purposes are higher and wider than we can fully know and there can be barriers to healing, so forgive and repent of sin. Healing can come immediately or over time. God’s Word testifies that God’s Word is faithful, that it always does what God says and that it’s the truth above any other ‘truth’. God’s will is in his Word and his will is to heal!
The Bible Verses
He said, "If you listen carefully to the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you."
Worship the Lord your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you, and none will miscarry or be barren in your land. I will give you a full life span.
God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?
The Lord will keep you free from every disease. He will not inflict on you the horrible diseases you knew in Egypt, but he will inflict them on all who hate you.
This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
1 Kings 8.56
Praise be to the Lord, who has given rest to his people Israel just as he promised. Not one word has failed of all the good promises he gave through his servant Moses.
O Lord, my God I called to you for help, and you healed me. O Lord, you brought me up from the grave; you spared me from going down to the pit of death.
This poor man called, and cried out, and the Lord heard him; He saved him out of all his troubles.
Psalm 91.9-10, 14-16
If you make the Most High your dwelling - even the Lord, who is my refuge - then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. "Because he loves me," says the Lord, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."
Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits - who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.
Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts and miracles.
Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He sent forth his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave.
I will not die but live, and will declare what the Lord has done.
Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones.
My son, pay attention to what I say; listen closely to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health (medicine) to a man's whole body. Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.
Death and life are in the power of the tongue and those who love it will eat its fruit
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.
Isaiah 55.10-11As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: it will not return to me empty
The LORD said to me, "You have seen correctly, for I am watching to see that my word is fulfilled."
"But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds," declares the Lord, "because you are called an outcast, Zion for whom no one cares.
Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears. Let the weakl say, "I am strong!"
Whatever they plot against the Lord he will bring to an end; trouble will not come a second time.
‘I the Lord do not change.’
“Our Father in heaven, holy is your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven…”
‘Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!
A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, "Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean." Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!" Immediately he was cured of his leprosy.
Matthew 8.8-10, 13
The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. 9 For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, “Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel! … Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that same hour.
When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to Jesus, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick. This was to fulfil what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: ‘He took up our infirmities and bore our diseases.’
Matthew 10.1, 7-8
Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and illness… As you go, proclaim this message: “The kingdom of heaven has come near.” Heal those who are ill, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.
(Jesus said) "I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven."
Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and it will be done.
So Jesus answered and said to him, “What do you want Me to do for you?” The blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.
Have faith in God,’ Jesus answered. ‘Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, “Go, throw yourself into the sea,” and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.
Jesus said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well."
Now when the sun was setting, all those who had anyone sick with various diseases brought them to Jesus and he laid his hands on every one of them and healed them.
And He came down with them and stood on a level place with a crowd of His disciples and a great multitude of people from all Judea and Jerusalem, and from the seacoast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear Him and be healed of their diseases.
(Jesus said), "I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you."
...Then the disciples believed the Scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken.
If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will[b] ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
“Stretch out your hand to heal and perform miraculous signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus."
God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power; he went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him
Without weakening in his faith, Abraham faced the fact that his body was as good as dead - since he was about a hundred years old - and that Sarah's womb was also dead. Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.
Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.
I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ has not accomplished through me, in word and deed, to make the Gentiles obedient— 19 in mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God, so that from Jerusalem and round about to Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favour granted us in answer to the prayers of many.
